About German

 

German is spoken as a native language by around 105 million people and around a further 80 million people speak it as a second or foreign language. The standard language is called Hochdeutsch and this is the language taught in schools. But there are also many regional German variants, especially in Southern Germany, such as in the beautiful Bavaria region where you can visit the Neuschwanstein castle and see stunning mountain scenery. This 1-hour online German taster course is for beginners who are new to the Michel Thomas Method. Learn how to speak German from scratch by learning the 50 most common German words and how to put them together to make yourself understood. Foundation German

This 8-hour digital beginners’ German course will give you significant results in a remarkably short period of time, with no books, exercises, memorizing or homework. You will join Michel himself and 2 students as they learn in real time, becoming the third member of the class and experiencing the excitement of learning the German language as if by magic. Within the first hour you will be able to construct simple sentences.
